MLM - Is Multilevel Marketing a Solid Home Business Alternative for Income Opportunity Seekers?

What do you think of when someone mentions "MLM" or "multilevel marketing" or "network marketing"? All of these are basically interchangeable names for a particularly powerful home based business model. Your reaction depends on experiences you've had and stories you've been told.

Lots of people tend to associate this business with "Amway", which is one of the original MLM opportunities, and one of the pioneers in the industry. The problem is, over the course of a few years, people promoting that opportunity (and similar opportunities) in certain ways has led to a generally negative feeling about MLM in general, and perhaps rightfully so.

When told about a home income opportunity, were you ever:

- given a glowing sales pitch about a great MLM business opportunity but for the life of you couldn't get a response if you simply asked the name of the company?

- invited to a presentation, and if you pressed were told only that the company was "Jones and Associates" or something like that?

- treated like an ignorant child if you asked any serious, probing questions about the opportunity?

- attended a MLM business opportunity meeting and been almost to the end before the "A" word was mentioned?

There is a reason that distributors have taken this approach. They were coached with a system that taught them not to reveal the name of the opportunity before the meeting, because the prospect might have some misconception that would stop them from coming.

The kickback to this approach was that it made this opportunity, and MLM as a business model, look very questionable.

Let's move on and look at the home business opportunity environment of today. It never was very easy for the average person to get people to come to opportunity presentations. People now are busier than ever with their lives. The secretive approach doesn't work so well anymore, either, because people have become suspicious of it.

The good news - despite all the busyness in our society today, there are lots of people out there looking for additional income and financial security. They are no longer looking so much at newspaper and magazine opportunity ads - they are going online to find what they want. This opens a huge door of opportunity for you.

Would MLM as a business be good for you? See how you feel about the following things.

- do you like to work with people?

- would you feel comfortable talking to business opportunity seekers who come to you for details about your business?

- are you strongly motivated to build a serious home based income?

- are you open to learning the fundamentals of success in MLM? It's hard work but well worth it.

If this sounds good, take a deeper look and find out more about how MLM works, and what it takes to choose a good opportunity and be successful.
