The First Key to Network Marketing Success - Discovering What Truly Means the Most to You
A few weeks ago, I realized that one of my downline associates had hit the wall and come to a breaking point in his quest for network marketing success.
Regretfully, this man seemed to quit easily whenever things didn't go his way, and for the third time he threw in the towel a few weeks after announcing he was getting started again.
Every time he started working his business again, he came across as positive and enthusiastic.
What happened?
Have you ever wondered why people get excited and fired up about building their home business, but fail (often more than once) to get anything going? Is there something wrong with network marketing as a business model? I don't think there is.
What happens?
I think a basic question faces everyone who ventures into network marketing, or any other type of home based business.
How much do you really want it?
Your attitude and thoughts will go a long way in determining how well you will do with your business. You must carefully examine your deep inner beliefs and know what motivates you, what makes you tick.
Ask yourself a few questions. If quitting your job is your goal, how badly do you really want to quit? Is there a deep inner fear of giving up a regular paycheck and the everyday routine you're used to? Is there something deep inside you that is willing to move outside the box and take risks to achieve your dreams?
Think about what would happen if you start your business and dream about making more money and quitting that job, while at the same time having a fear of letting go of the perceived security of a regular job and paycheck? Do you have a driving force, some reasons, deep within you that are strong enough to overcome that fear?
Determine, in your mind, whether achieving success in your business is really a top priority with you. Look at the whole picture here. What happens when you have some extra money and time you can spend? Do you put that money and time back into building your business, or blow it on something you don't really need?
Network marketing success means a lot more than just having good intentions for achieving your goals and dreams.
Working through and understanding your true desires and motivation helps break down barriers that otherwise will hold you back. I believe that my downline associate who failed three times to succeed with his network marketing business had some unresolved issues.
While I am not a mind reader and may never know for sure, there are some conclusions I've drawn from our discussions.
- deep down, I don't think he really had any driving reason for building a business other than just a wish to make a little more money.
- he enjoyed talking about all the great things he was going to do, but didn't back that talk up with action steps.
- instead of following a system for success that he was taught, he decided to do things his own way.
It's very important to do some self-analysis and make sure that you truly want to achieve success in network marketing.
The keys to this self analysis process include:
- nail down the real reasons you want to make the sacrifices necessary to build a profitable home business; do you have enough motivation deep inside to drive you past roadblocks and obstacles to your success?
- decide if you can be open to learning from your upline and network marketing industry leaders who understand network marketing success - are you coachable?
- are you ready to dig in and always be alert for ways to do things better and set yourself apart as a successful leader?
How deep must you dig inside yourself to find network marketing success? Whatever it takes, get it done. Your future depends on it.
